Fourth Dimension living is living that involves the realm of the spirit in the midst of space and time.
Hugh Ross is an astrophysicist who is a follower of Jesus. He wrote a book titled "Beyond the Cosmos". In his book Dr. Ross goes into great detail explaining the multidimensional nature of the universe.
Now don't let big words, like "multidimensional" throw you. The first time I read words like that in his book, I asked myself what had I gotten myself into.
I will explain what all of this means further along in the article.
Dr. Ross states that through mathematical equations it has been verified that at the split second of the big bang, there were at least 21 dimensions in our universe.
I'm sure there are some reading this article who have no problem with the big bang theory of the creation of the universe. But, I'm equally sure there are just as many who question its' validity. I will not be discussing the pros and cons of the big bang theory. That is not the purpose of this article.
The point is, there were at least 21 dimensions in the universe that have been verified to exist at some point.
In our current universe, we live in a space/time continuum.
We live in space that contains three dimensions. The dimensions are height, width and depth. Everything we see with our eyes, every object we touch, we see as having width, height and depth.
We can measure with relative accuracy how wide an object is. We measure that width with our common American measurements of inches, feet or yards.
Elsewhere in the world, the standard of measure may be centimeters, millimeters or meters.
In the same way, we measure how tall an object is using the same standard of measurements. Likewise, we can measure how deep an object extends or how long it is.
At the same time all of these physical objects we can see and measure exist in a time continuum.
This time continuum can be measured with watches or clocks, using units of measurement called seconds, minutes and hours. This time continuum continually, at the same pace, moves forward.
I was reading the Bible and there was a scripture that just seemed to grab me. I'm sure most of you have had this type of experience as well.
You are reading the Bible. Maybe you are reading a whole chapter. Perhaps you are reading just part of a chapter. You very well could have been reading a couple of verses.
Then it happens. The verse, word or chapter you are reading seems to grab you. It seems to leap at you. It almost seems to call your name. It penetrates you.
So, what does this experience with reading the Bible have to do with the dimensions of height, width, depth and the time continuum? Everything. The experience that you had with the Bible is a basic experience with the fourth dimension.
The fourth dimension, is that dimension of the spiritual that affects the physical three dimensional world of height, width and depth within the time continuum.
Even more importantly, what does this fourth dimension have to do with personal development?
There are many self help and personal development books on the market. Some have good information in them.
Yet, in spite of the proliferation of personal development information, many people report mixed results.
Many still live unsatisfying lives. Many still have unfulfilled dreams, desires and destinies.
Many of those who claim to be followers of Jesus, live a life that is no different from those who do not claim to be a Jesus follower.
Many have the same negative results, the same lack of success, the same frustrations, the same defeated mindsets and the same negative beliefs.
Yet it is recorded in the Bible, that Jesus said He came to give to those who followed Him, a life with abundance. In this instance, don't confuse the abundance Jesus was speaking of with the abundance that many in our society think of.
When you mention the word "abundance" today, many think of material wealth, expensive cars, large houses, and large bank accounts.
Abundance may include those things. There is nothing wrong with having them. But the abundance Jesus spoke of encompassed so much more.
Remember, personal development includes the mind, body and spirit. So, the abundance Jesus spoke of was abundance in mind, abundance in body and abundance in spirit.
Much personal development information on the market today falls short and is lacking. Most of it, deals mainly with the mind. For example, a couple of years ago, there was a movie that came out. Many people raved about it.
Oprah interviewed some individuals who were featured in the movie. The name of the movie was "The Secret".
It was produced by a woman named Rhonda Byrne. Following the movie was a book with the same name also written and compiled by Rhonda Byrne.
The basics of the movie and the book is based on a law called the law of attraction.
Basically, this law states that we attract to ourselves those things we think about with feeling.
Years ago, a man by the name of Earl Nightingale came out with a recording called "The Strangest Secret". It was based on the same law. He said we become what we think about.
Much of today's personal development material is centered on the law of attraction and positive thinking. We do attract what we dwell on.
Have you ever started a day, something negative happened, then you said how bad the day was going to be? What happened? From that point all kinds of negative things happened in line with what you declared. This is the law of attraction at work.
But, focusing on the law of attraction and positive thinking alone falls short.
Remember, personal development involves mind, body and spirit. Focusing on the law of attraction is focusing on the mental alone.
This is why many who try to put the law of attraction and positive thinking into practice are dissatisfied with their results.
Others experience positive results, but they are limited results. Limiting yourself to the mental alone will bring you mixed and limited results.
Fourth dimension living is living that incorporates the spiritual with the mental.
Many personal development teachers will emphasize the spiritual. But, when you read their writings and study what they are saying, the spiritual is basically a higher form of mental activity.
There are three parts of our mental activity. Many of the personal development teachers today, mistake one or two of these three parts with spirituality.
The first is our conscious mind. This is the part of our mind where we make conscious decisions and choices.
For example, I go to a car dealership and I see a car I want to purchase. I read the literature on the car, take it for a test drive and negotiate a price. Then I make a conscious decision to purchase the car. This is activity that occurs with the conscious mind.
Next, is the subconscious mind. Your subconscious mind is where all of your beliefs (negative and positive), attitudes and desires are stored.
You may be thinking about a problem for which you need a solution. You can't consciously think of a solution. So, you decide to go to bed. You wake up in the middle of the night or the next morning and the solution comes to your conscious thought. It took no effort. The solution just appeared.
This is how your subconscious mind works. Of course, there is more involved than was mentioned in this example. But, you get the idea.
Third, there is intuition. Everyone is born with the ability to use their intuition. Intuition is an "inner knowing", a "sense" or a "gut feeling".
For example, you are considering a decision or a choice of actions to take. You study the data. You ask for and receive opinions of others.
In spite of the data you've gathered and the opinions you considered, you just "know" there is a certain action to take.
It may appear to go against the data and opinions you've considered. But, you just have a "sense" or an "inner knowing" or "gut feeling" that the choice you are making is correct. This is your intuition at work.
Fourth Dimension living encompasses all of the mental aspects of our life.
But, it takes our lives to a higher level...sometimes a much higher level. The Fourth Dimension totally transcends our third dimension world along the time/space continuum.
The fourth dimension is still subject to time and space, yet it transcends them.
The fourth dimensional world is the spiritual realm. It involves a law which is much higher than the law of attraction. This is the law of higher dimension.
The law of higher dimension involves five aspects or five parts. These aspects or parts, when used together, will bring positive change to your life to such a degree it will astound you.
The five parts are faith, words, dreaming, thinking and heart.
Faith is the most important part. Faith is what many personal development teachers leave out. But if you leave out faith, the law of higher dimension will not work.
Words are those things we declare, affirm or speak. Words are powerful. They must come from the heart. Heart felt words are words that are true and words that are effective. Without heart, words lose their effectiveness.
The third part is dreaming. Dreaming is where we envision and imagine. The Bible says in the book of Proverbs, that without vision the people perish.
Dreaming is the realm where our imaginations, visions and intuition contribute to the effectiveness of the law of higher dimension.
Thinking is obviously those things we think about. Thoughts are a driving force in the fourth dimension. Through thoughts everything in our world comes to pass exactly as we think it will.
Then there is heart. Our hearts are the seat of our deepest desires, beliefs and fears. Proverbs 23:7 states, as a man thinks in his heart so is he.
Ephesians 1:18 also states, "I pray also, that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened...".
Fourth dimension living is much more than positive thinking, much more than just your intuition and much more than hard work.
In fact hard work may work against the effectiveness of your fourth dimensional life. This is why many people work so hard, yet do not make the progress they desire toward their goals and dreams.
In fourth dimension living, we don't work as hard as we can to make things happen. Now, I'm not saying by working hard you will get no results.
There are many who work hard and get results. But the results are often limited and unfullfilling. By working hard, our lives are often out of balance.
In fourth dimensional living, we don't work hard to try and make things happen. When we consciously live in the fourth dimension, we use the five parts of faith, words, dreams, thinking and heart.
As a result we are led to the actions that bring our desired results to us.
Living in the fourth dimension is not passive living. We don't just dream, think, say words, think positive thoughts and hold things dear to our heart. Living in the fourth dimension is active living. It is living with action.
The difference is, instead of using our conscious minds to think of actions we can take to force our desired results to appear, we allow the Holy Spirit to lead us to actions that will give us our desired results.
The Holy Spirit goes into depths of the fourth dimension we are unable to go with positive thinking only.
The Bible makes a very deep declaration regarding the fourth dimension.
In the book of 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 are the following words: "...No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him. But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and no one can know God's thoughts except by God's own Spirit".
So, you see, mental activity alone will bring us results, perhaps positive results. But the results will be limited and possibly mixed.
It takes the Holy Spirit to take us deep into the fourth dimension, manifesting the Law of Higher Dimension.
The Bible, in the book of Hebrews, speaks of entering God's rest where we refrain from our own work. This isn't passive living. This is active fourth dimension living.
As you grow and expand don't limit yourself to the three dimensional world in space/time. Don't wear yourself out by working hard and trying to make things happen.
